Calloway County High School Band is under the direction of Nicholas Calcamuggio as Head Director with Kevin Suiter as Assistant High School Director. Mr. Calcamuggio has been with the group since 2021. Mr. Suiter has been with the group since 1999. Both directors received their Bachelor in Music Education from Murray State University. Mr. Calcamuggio also has his Masters in Wind Band Conducting from the University of Louisville.
Currently, Calloway County Middle & High schools have the following band programs: 6th grade beginning band, 7th & 8th grade bands, HS concert band, HS jazz band, and HS marching band. CCHS also sponsors a Winterguard and an Indoor Drumline during the winter/spring semester.
Last year, the CCHS Marching Band went all the way to KMEA State Finals with their show titled “The Inn Between.” Previous years the Laker Band made it to State Finals include 2017, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, and 2002.
